Biography

Sara Mead has lived and painted in Renfrewshire for the past eight years and has recently (May 07) moved to Moseley, Birmingham. Sara paints prolifically in between caring for her four children! She has been painting seriously since late 1999 largely as a result of encouragement and support of the renowned Scottish Watercolorist Tom Shanks. Sara's subject and approach is varied but her work has an underlying consistency in the use of fervent colour to reflect feelings and prompt emotion. Mixed media harbour scenes represent some of her favourite work, stemming from a childhood love for the coast - often depicted in quirky and lively manner. She has exhibited and sold works at a range of exhibitions including the Paisley Art Institute, Pittenweem Arts Festival, Ayrshire Art Exhibition, Kilbarchan’s Art Off the Square and produced solo shows at Pollock House and House for An Art Lover.
