Biography

Born in Barnt Green, Worcestershire, Sara studied fine art at the Ruskin School of Drawing, Oxford University, and printmaking at the Royal College of Art, London. Printmaking still influences the way Sara works using heightened colour and vibrant mark making. Her work is inspired by her travels including visits to gardens and the coast with her artist husband Paul Powis. More recently a trip to the Scottish isle of Iona has provided inspiration. Two exhibitions, “Via Dolorosa- Christ’s Sorrowful Way”, and “Winterbourne Revisited,” a series of large scale abstract paintings, have been shown at Worcester Cathedral this year. Sara’s portrait of Henry Sandon MBE hangs in the Museum of Royal Worcester and her work is featured on the Bridgeman Art Library.
