Biography
Elizabeth grew up in Ellesmere Port on the Wirral. She has studied and lived throughout the Midlands, working as a Freelance Web & Graphic Designer, Pattern Designer, gardener, hedgelayer and craft maker. She has been based in rural North Shropshire for the past 8 years, spending extended periods of time volunteering for conservation projects all over the country, gaining many skills in traditional rural crafts. Elizabeth has always enjoyed working with her hands, and has an affinity with textiles, paint, colour, texture and natural materials. She has a strong desire to combine her traditional rural craft skills with contemporary art forms, and is fast developing a strong style with original pieces of sculptural greenwood furniture as well as small thoughtful sculptures in wood and felt. Elizabeth finds painting outdoors a liberating and immediate experience, often challenging and intense. She is inspired by the landscapes and working in the field enables her to capture the atmosphere, seasons and mood of the day in an expressive way.
