Biography
Jenny has been a basketmaker for over ten years, having learnt her trade from expert basketmakers in Ireland, England and France. Working mostly with unstripped willow, with its variety of texture and colour, Jenny likes to borrow from traditional Celtic and English Regional styles to develop more contemporary designs. She makes a wide variety of baskets, liking her work to be both functional and decorative. Jenny teaches her own regular basketmaking Workshops from Autumn through to Spring, undertakes commissions and demonstrations. She sources her willow mostly from the Somerset levels, whilst growing some of the coloured varieties in her garden in Herefordshire. Jenny exhibits with the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen and is also a member of the Basketmakers Association, The Irish Basketmakers Association, and Creative Breaks in Herefordshire.
