Biography
Fiona followed her study of art at School by doing an Art Foundation course in North Devon. She then studied Fine Art and History of Art at Reading University Fiona has lived and worked in Barcelona since 1991.
Artist Statement
Fiona was born in Malta and being from a Forces family travelled extensively with her family during her youth.. After studying at Reading she settled in Barcelona where she still lives and works.
A large degree of Fiona’s work is figurative, highly influenced by the strong passions, traditions and colours of Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain as a whole. She grew up around horses which form a substantial part of her subject matter, their movement working and playing in particular. Naturally in Spain some of the greatest examples of this can be found in the bullring..
Fiona's first group exhibition in Barcelona was in 1991, since when she has enjoyed many successful group and solo exhibitions across Spain and Southern France.
