After her retirement it was both possible and exciting to go back to college to study Fine Art. She studied at both Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology and Telford College of Arts and Technology.

Artist Statement

At college I read English Literature which was not only enlightening but provided me with a successful and happy career. I went, and still do, to galleries, the theatre and concerts. As well as the above I have always painted and drawn – this goes back to a very early age.

My passion is our breathtaking countryside. Although I have worked many hours in the Life Studio I am increasingly drawn to the ever changing canvas of nature, its moods and beauty. There is a permanent exhibition of my work in my village, hung in celebration of the Millennium. The subject of all five pieces is the Clee Hills. I have had work displayed in The Gateway in Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Abbey, The Shropshire Open and have had a drawing I submitted accepted by the R.A.
